"Hey, where are you going?" I frowned as Jessica walked into the packhouse. "I thought we were going out tonight."
"I have some things to get done. Sorry," she tried to smile, but I knew her well enough to know she wasn't being honest. We can meet up later.
"Sure," I didn't buy it. We hadn't met up for anything since I got back. "Everything alright?"
"Peter has me working overtime. We've had a lot of the non-werewolf pups getting sick lately. He thinks it's a new strand of flu." She scowled, and I was willing to believe that. Luke mentioned how a lot of the kids were getting sick. "I'm just coming to change and heading back to the hospital... I hope... you're not too disappointed."
"Nah, I'll find something to do," I lied, already moving away from the entrance. "I'll see you later."
