"You want to do what?" My father looked at me with his mouth wide open. "You want to leave?"
"Less want, more need," I corrected, staring at my family, feeling much calmer than I should've felt. "For a few months."
As expected, no one was happy with my announcement.
It was bad enough fifteen minutes ago when we told them Nefra was leaving. So, I was glad we'd waited until after we got the results to inform anyone. We knew this wouldn't be an easy discussion, and we had yet to tell them where we were going or why. Their reactions to the next part were going to be interesting, but I'd decided to go with Nefra, and they weren't going to sway things. Tony knew about Nefra and didn't look shocked at my declaration.
"If this is about what happened before... I thought we fixed that!" My mom looked on the verge of tears. The fight we'd had with Nefra's family had nearly torn our families apart, and it had impacted her. "You don't have to move."
