Have you ever met someone who believes what they're saying and doing is the only way things can be? I've met many like that. Some were humans, but there are also those in my world who are just as convinced. It's dangerous but sometimes not malicious. That's not the case here.
Gluttony believes what he's saying and knows it goes against anyone else's beliefs.
"It's your fault, you know?" he pointed, his disappointment now on me. "You are what you are, which hasn't served me well. Yet, she did. You have no idea how long I hated her. How many lifetimes I spent despising what she was because I didn't understand that it wasn't her who was making my life what it was. Imagine going through so many lifetimes and becoming an orphan each time because of poverty and starvation. Uh-uh. I don't think so."
I'd moved to attack him, taking advantage of him talking, but he wasn't fooled or so engrossed in his speech to ignore me.
