I've done fucked up, crazy ass, and reckless things in my life, but willingly walking into lava has never been on the list.
We were really doing this, but I was having doubts, not that anyone could blame me. I wasn't convinced some clothes were enough to protect us from the lava. They were loose, and even though they were scaled, how could they keep out the molten liquid? It didn't seem possible. Yet, I had to trust they knew what they were doing. These people lived here, I didn't.
"We need to move quickly," the nymph explained once we were changed. She hadn't, but I assumed as a Tartarus nymph, she was immune to the lava. "If they drain the chambers before we're across, we'll end up at the bottom of the wall, and it'll take much longer to get through. It'll also be more dangerous."
