"Did you feel that?" Sati asked, her spoon stopping in her bowl.
"I did… Nefra…" I felt the urge to look around the room as if she would magically appear, but she didn't. "The pack bond… Something changed in it."
"I felt it once before, but I don't know what it means," Sati admitted, staring at me curiously. "How is the pack bond changed?"
"It's what happens when someone joins the pack… I know she made Alister a packmate, but I don't know who this is… Strangely, I can feel it… I didn't feel Alister," I set down my silverware and rested my arms on the table. "I wish I knew what she was up to… That she and the pups are okay."
"Well… I know the babies are okay," Sati assured me, giving me a small smile. "Our connection is severed, but Kama and I can still feel the pregnancy. They're powerful. They're healthy."
