The flow of the next few weeks changed.
My body adapted to our new environment, which was frustrating but also a blessing. Training became easier. I could move without pain, and even shifting became more effortless. Jessica was pleased with the last results of my blood tests. The poison had finally flushed from my system, so my werewolf healing was almost back to normal.
Yet, these weren't the only transformations I underwent. Emotionally, I was on a rollercoaster, and I wasn't sure I could navigate the highs and lows of this new reality. I could dedicate all the time I wanted to become stronger and faster without worrying about anything else, but it felt hollow. What was the point of all that? It was just wasting time. The only moment that felt useful was the time I took to send Nefra a message at night, but even that felt hopeless since I hadn't heard back from her yet.
Amid all that chaos, there was something else that was changing.
