I lived in darkness.
Instead of waking up after challenging Melissa to give me everything she had, I found myself floating in the void. There were no more dreams and no interruptions. It was quiet and not as unsettling as you would expect. I was ultimately at ease, and thoughts and feelings were easy to release. It was like meditating, but it was much more soothing and unencumbered. The chaos of my life didn't affect me here, and I took advantage of the silence.
The nothingness demanded nothing of me, but it also allowed no worries or questions. So, I was left without an anchor to the world. I knew I loved and missed my mate and pups, and I couldn't leave them alone, but I couldn't connect to anything that made me worry. There was a disconnect to everything. Was this what enlightenment was? The ability to let go of everything and still know it was there?
I wasn't sure if it was for me.
