This was hell.
As an Alpha, you know you have to play this part eventually. It's part of being civilized, but now I felt like a performing monkey. The suit was alright; the material was different from what I was used to, and it wasn't that hard to look the part, but I hated it. I had no reason to do this like I had to with the pack. My other issue was Jessica.
She looked beautiful. I couldn't deny that, but Melissa was trying too hard to make her look more like Nefra. The dress she'd been given was my mate's style—something flowy but still showing off her curves. The color was a metallic peach, and it clung to her body perfectly. The makeup box was all Nefra's favorite colors, and Jessica didn't get a choice in what to use.
"I think they meant for her to be here, not me," Jessica admitted when she finished her hair. "The bust is a little loose for me."
Glancing at the top part of the dress, I had to agree it didn't quite fit her.
