Odie was much better at subtlety than I was, so the fact she was being so blunt warned me how serious the situation was.
What had they learned, and how had they made a plan so quickly? When my world was being stretched into millions of places, they seemed in control, if not slightly chaotic. Something told me it was Odie who'd done this, and the more I stared at her, the more I knew it was true. Everything she did was a strategy. Even the way she ate her food. You wouldn't notice because she made it feel effortless, but Odie always planned everything through. It's what would make her an incredible surgeon someday. She would think of every insignificant risk and detail to never lose a patient. She was more focused than me, and I envied her ability to keep to the order and get things done. I tried and succeeded in the things I was good at, but the rest was chaos.
"Mind explaining that part?" I asked, unsure I was ready to hear the truth.
