I came out of it and knew it had only been a second or two.
Ivan had just caught me, and no one managed to move. Yet, I felt different. Like I'd used a ton of energy, I understood the level of magic that was now drained. How did it happen? I don't know, but I was now starving and ready to curl up on the couch and sleep. Unfortunately, I was the only one who knew the truth.
How did I explain this?
Multiple mates is a delicate subject. At least, that's how Benji had explained it. Many believe your soul can't be more than two pieces since the simplified understanding of duality is that there are two sides. So, logically, that means there can only be a pair in a mating. I've seen so much in the past year to know that simplification of the universe is impossible.
