"He thought you were dead," I sighed, cradling Pen-Pen against my chest as she tried playing with my hair. "Then he insisted on knowing if I'd taken you in."
"That's… I don't know," He looked genuinely surprised by what I'd said. It took hours to get through to them, and I didn't know why until Alister explained that they'd spent most of the day underground. The seal they were searching for was under the earth, and they'd spent a long time trying to locate it. Then, even more time is needed to repair and recharge it. This constellation point was near one of the mineral springs here, drawing on a large amount of the nexus's power. According to the elf, it was delicate work and would take at least three days.
