"Are you ready to go back?" I asked, keeping the slow pace we'd been walking at. "Or do you want to go a little more?"
"I am ready to head back," Nefera sighed between fried pineapple bites. I tried not to make a face, but she'd been craving this all afternoon. "How long have we been walking?"
"Two hours now," I looked at my watch, glad she'd decided to call it. "Want me to carry you?"
"No," with a laugh, Nefera moved a little faster, trying to prove a point. "Come on, Zaya."
Ironically, Yetunde didn't want Nefera on bed rest like I thought she would. On the contrary, she wanted her to be as active as possible. That included practicing magic. It was frustrating for my mate because she couldn't see any results, but I noticed it was helping her. She might be unable to tap into her magic, but stretching those invisible areas opened the energy flow.
I'd been doubtful initially, but the last four days showed it worked.
