'Ivan, we have a problem,' I hurriedly sent my mate a mind-link as I led Liz toward the center halls. Freddy pleaded with us to stop, but I didn't let her, even when Liz tried to look back.
'What is it?' Sadly, his tone sounds so calm, if not exasperated, like he's come to expect trouble whenever I leave a room. I wish it didn't happen so often that he had the right to feel that way, but I had no leg to stand on with that argument. 'How's Brody?'
'He's shifted, and he's not our issue,' I wanted to look behind me but didn't dare. As of right now, Freddy assumed I was hurrying so Liz could meet her brother, even though he disapproved. 'Freddy's one of Quinten's wolves.'
