"Easy," I urged when Nefera turned in my arms, returning from whatever had pulled her in. "I'm here, I'm here."
This is always challenging. The magic that pulls us in to experience a memory, whether ours or Van and Valen's, isn't a gentle process. The effects are different each time but rarely pleasant, even if the memory is. You feel unstable and disoriented, and you question your reality. Then there's the physical side effects. Sometimes, they're masked by the intensity of emotions, and they're not that bad, but other times, they're deadly.
At least she wasn't bleeding, but that was because I focused my energy on taking those effects from her.
