This was something I'd never done before.
In the times I've awakened during a lifetime, I've never taken complete control of that life. Others like me don't have that mentality, and it was never something I wanted to do. Even though I've been those people, my life is over. It wasn't right to try to reclaim what I'd lost. So, I did the right thing and returned to the source. That might seem like a punishment, but it wasn't.
I was born there. It's where my being became conscious for the first time I connected to my soulmate. Neither of us had names or understood anything, but we had each other. That was a deliberate choice on my part. Me being what I was, the eternal punishment history thinks my life was? To protect my family, future, and what Van and I built? I was willing to pay that price.
It's what it means to be a Rider.
