I have never been more grateful that things didn't work like they did in the movies than I am today.
For one, Quinten and his men didn't barge in, catching us in the middle of planning our escape. It took him at least twenty minutes to check on us, and we had ample warning. His men weren't trained to handle hostages. They were used to prisoners and assumed we were pretty much the same. I've learned the difference between the two stages in the past few months. With hostages, you're careful what you say and do because there's a chance they'll be released. With a prisoner, there's no such luck, and the end result is usually death.
