Ivan,
I was halfway home when Nefera's mind-link reached me.
It was like radio static. The words chopped up, but what I caught ignited every nerve in my body as I turned and headed back to the coven. I could've gone to the packhouse, but the witches were closer. I tried mind-linking Nefera as I ran, but that familiar static was still there. I didn't have to question that someone was using a magical amulet to block the connection. This would be the second one we'd encountered, and the fact there was more than one wasn't comforting. However, when I reached out to the wolves I'd sent to protect Nefera, I had no issues reaching them.
'Luna ordered us to capture three werewolves who were trespassing.' Duke growled the squad leader I'd placed in charge. 'But something's off Alpha. I can't reach everyone, and Gamma Bran had to mind-link Ash to get the message to us.'
