"No, she definitely doesn't like sitting and waiting," Neither did I, but Nefera had to do things. She couldn't stop herself from being active when she was worried. I was glad she didn't have to be on bed rest for weeks at a time. It would drive her mad. "Especially when it's someone she cares about."
Which was disturbing. She had only met this wolf once and treated him like family. The only thing I could think of was that she'd known him from before, and her emotions remembered him. Otherwise, Nefera was way too good at making friends. I wasn't sure how I felt about that right now. After what I'd figured out about Jake, it seemed odd that my mate was such a good judge of character. Everyone she attached herself to seemed capable of redemption.
