I looked up to him.
As crazy as it seemed, now, I thought he was a god. Jake could do it all. He'd gone to college away from his clan, partied every weekend, drank, and had women hanging off him. Somehow, he always had money even though I didn't know what he did for work, and he had expensive things. I wanted to be him.

"You're sixteen? Man, you know you dress up a bit; you'd pass for twenty-one," Jake grinned, handing me the bottle of bourbon we were sharing. "I can get you a fake ID, and we can have real fun."
"Yeah?" I arched an eyebrow, skeptical that he'd be able to pull anything off. "I don't think you can do it."
"Hey, next weekend, I'll pick you up, and I'll show you how good I am at making things happen," He chuckled, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. "Just keep your schedule free. We'll be gone all weekend."
