Vali pushed away from me and had the strength to do it.
I stared at her as she backed away, unable to move past what she'd said. An angel punished her for loving me? What did that mean? What in the infernos was an angel? Was it a creature? A god? Or something else?

"Stop running from me!" I shake her roughly, my feelings getting the best of me again. I could hear the storm outside, and I knew I was responsible. "Damn it! You can't act one way and say another. You love me, but you leave. You say you're protecting me, but you refuse to explain how. An angel cursed you, but I don't know what that is! I'm in the darkness, and you're keeping the light from me!"
"He will kill you!" She screamed, pushing me away, tears running down her face. "I won't watch you die because of me!"
