Instead of focusing on the tables of plants, she didn't look at me. Everything glittered, either gold, silver, or bronze. The pots transformed into gemstones and the dirt diamond dust. Everything in the room changed into expensive, beautiful things to hide the pain my mate felt because it had nowhere else to go. Suddenly, the greenhouse was more valuable than any other house in my territory, possibly even the packhouse.
"Why'd you come back?" She finally looked up, and I saw how red her eyes were.
