"Nefra, I'm getting dizzy just watching you." Grabbing her arm, I pull her to my side. She's frantic. "What are you looking for?"
"My earrings." She pouts with her hands on her hips. "I left them in my bag but can't find them now."
"Were they expensive?" frowning, I scan the floor, looking for them.
"No, I got them for five bucks." Sighing, she looked away, checking under the bed. "I just wanted to wear them."
"Beautiful, stop, please." Chuckling, I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her onto my lap. She was trying too hard.
"But…"
"No, they'll love you." I've insisted on the same point for the last twenty minutes, but she wasn't buying it. Luckily, I bought us some time by getting Steven and Taylor to pick my parents up from the airport, and Steven was going the long way. Hopefully, traffic was heavy and would stall them. However, they were coming straight here instead of stopping at Luke's house.
