Part of me knew I shouldn't be doing this.
Unfortunately, the reckless side of me didn't care enough to stop. However, despite the chaos of our lives, we were having such a good time that Zoe and Patrick were not willing to stop it either. No one knew what we were doing except for Gladys and Ivan, and that was more out of necessity than anything else. For the moment, that was the best course of action.
Ivan knew because I couldn't keep it from him, and Gladys knew because we used her house as our hiding spot. That's where I spent the next few days every afternoon at four-thirty. Like I said, it was reckless, but it felt right. Magic and I had reached a rocky place in our relationship, which couldn't stand anymore. I had to find my way back to it, and teaching the teenagers was actually helping.
