"You let me sleep in," Nefera came downstairs with a slight pout. Her hair was messy, and she'd slid her PJs back on, but she looked gorgeous. "It's late."
"It's nine," I correct, leaning back in the chair. "You were exhausted. I figured you should enjoy sleeping in our bed a little longer."
"What about the baby?" She frowned, searching for Pen-Pen.
"Fed, changed, we played, and now she's taking a nap in her swing." I pointed to the living room where our daughter was sleeping with her mouth open. That was all normal, except for a few things.
I fed her a formula bottle while I ate a frozen breakfast burrito, which she tried to grab. I'm not an expert at babies, but I know she's too young for solid food. However, my pup decided she wasn't playing by the conventional rules. Her answer was to shift into her wolf form and allow Zaya to steal part of my breakfast. Honestly, I didn't care, but Chagan did.
