"Crystal?" I blinked, pulling away from her in shock.
"Oh, Luna!" Crystal cried when I stepped back and nearly fell, but I was caught in strong arms from behind. "Oh, thank the goddess. Alpha, I was scared she'd fall!"
"I've got her," Ivan sounded like he was breathing heavily, and when I turned in his arms, I saw that his hair looked just like it had when he was fighting. Then there was the look in his eyes. The one who told me he knew what I did.
"Hey, what happened?" Taylor jogged over to my side, holding a plate of cake. "You just stumbled."
'She doesn't know what happened,' I mind-linked Ivan, trying to shake off the panic.
'No, she doesn't,' He agreed.
"Nefera?" Frowning, she put her free hand on my forehead. "You're sweating, sweetie. You okay?"
"I'm nervous," I lied, staring at the boxes and swallowing when I saw they'd also changed. They were no longer plain wood. Now, they were adorned and elegantly painted.
