Nefretiri
"Okay," I breathed, wrapping the satin dressing gown tightly around myself. "I guess I'm ready."
"I bet you never thought we'd be hiding in a closet on your birthday," Taylor muttered, opening the door more slowly than she needed to and getting everyone's attention. "What? I'm not going to pretend I'm happy with this."
None of them were too happy right now. Ivan locking the door had aggravated the witches and elves since they assumed we were doing something to sabotage the ritual. Then, when they came in, it was to find Ivan alone while Tay and I went into the closet so I could get undressed in private. As Taylor put it, there was no need to give them a strip show just because we were in a corner. I appreciated it since it's what it felt like.
