"What happened?" Rhonda saw me climbing the stairs with Nefera and Pen-Pen in my arms. Dylan was walking beside me, still a little disoriented but able to move on his own. "Swift Feather just arrived."
"I know, Steven's greeting them," He'd let me know the minute they'd entered the territory, but I couldn't go to see them. "He's bringing them here."
"So, the Beta is handling it again?" I wouldn't say I liked her disapproving tone as if she had the right to question me. "Alpha, you can't keep shirking your responsibilities. The pack is very vulnerable, and we need you and Luna to be better about this."
"Excuse me?" I snarled, my anger growing. Nefera tried to stand, but I held onto her. She hadn't regained her balance, so I'd insisted on carrying her. "Where the hell have you been for the past two months?"
