"That should hold you until you can get it to a shop," I finished pouring the oil, closing the hood for the guy. "It needs an oil change, but you should be good."
"We'll see," He mutters, getting into the driver's side. I frowned, a little frustrated with the man's attitude toward me. What the fuck had I done to him?
"Please forgive him," The woman placed her free hand on my arm, the boy in her other, muttering in her ear. "Things have been really stressful for him, and he lashes out at the world."
"That's no excuse for mistreating you," I shouldn't have said anything, but my instincts screamed at me. No mate, male or female, should be that way with their mate, chosen or not. "Make sure the car gets to a shop, or it'll happen again."
