How crazy was that? From the moment I'd seen Nefera, I knew I wanted to have more pups. That feeling only grew when I connected to Penelope, but I never thought it would be this soon. Pen-Pen was considered a newborn to us, and Nefera was already pregnant? The only feeling I could have was joy.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the place to show those emotions. We were surrounded by potential enemies and danger. We were in a foreign land, with packs who didn't trust us. Not to mention the risk of another Wendigo attack. There were more of them I hadn't killed, which we had to deal with. We couldn't leave things like they were for these wolves. Not only because I was their royalty but because they'd be killed the second I turned my back on them.
