"Swanky," Luke scanned the restaurant, looking for the woman we knew from the wedding pictures. I did the same, but I couldn't see her. "You think she'd really want us here? It's nice, not pretentious."
He was right. The atmosphere was much more relaxed than I'd expected. The floors, ceiling, and some walls were black, contrasting the mural on the far wall. Everything about the place felt warm, and the staff looked friendly. The bar was nestled at the side of the room, dark and light woods making it seem inviting. For the briefest moments, I considered telling Nefera to forget this and take her over there. In the two months we've been together, I've only had one date with her, and since she was nursing the baby, we didn't try drinking. It would probably freak the guys out to see me with alcohol, but I wasn't out of control now.
