I was alone in the pack hospital.
It was nearly eleven, and everyone was gone. No one was planning to leave me, but it just worked out that way. With what was going on, no one could stay still. Ivan had to call Luke, which could take a few hours, and I told him to stay at the packhouse for the night. He didn't like that idea, but it didn't make sense to come back here when there was a tremendous bed upstairs. It was one night apart, and we'd be okay.
So what if tomorrow might be my last day alive. I had no plans of letting that make a coward out of me. At least, that's what I'd hoped, but now that I'm here alone, with Trip and the dead pups and their mother? I question my judgment. Honestly, this was one of my worst decisions.
