Nefretiri
"You've got to be joking!" I declare, staring at the rooster in front of me. He caws at me, and the sound he makes doesn't fit what he is. It's softer than it was, but that's not the sound a chicken makes!
He's a beautiful bird. His face was a vibrant red, covering him like a mask. The crest on the top of his head was the same red, but it wasn't as elaborate as other chickens I'd seen. That doesn't take away from how impressive he is, though. Most of the sleek feathers below his neck were black, but there's splashes of red on his wings and a color that looked sort of blue on his long tail feathers.
I hate to say it, but this chicken was... buff. He wasn't plump, and he didn't waddle when he walked. It's not quite a strut, but with his tail feathers so long, he looks like he's wearing a cape behind him, giving a regal sense to the bird. Add that to the fiery look he's giving me. You'd think he was king of all the birds, and he was... upset with me.
