"So that's it? Stan demands angrily. I feel his fear, but he's still speaking out. "Accept this or be cast out?"
"No one's casting you out," Steven growls just as angry. "The Alpha's giving you a choice."
"That isn't fair!" Stan balls up his fists. "That's as good as being exiled as rogues if we don't agree."
"You're right," Nefera steps forward. "So tell me, what is fair?"
What was Nefera doing?
I don't think anyone was expecting that. I knew I wasn't. There was no venom in Nefera's voice, and what she'd asked was genuine curiosity. Nefera wanted to understand why Stan was angry.
"I mean no disrespect, Luna," Stan mutters, looking down. "But I don't believe your daughter should be Alpha of our pack."
"I understand that," Nefera moved closer to him, and Brandon was right behind her, making sure she was safe. "But I asked you what you thought was fair."
Stan says nothing.
