Ivan
"Okay, what's going on?" Vince demands once everyone's in my office. "I thought this thing started at six."
"It does," I smirk. "What's the matter, Vince, anxious for cupcakes?"
"No," he crosses his arms and scowls at me. "I want to know why you told us to come to your office first. What's wrong?"
It was funny. My cousin was thinking like a Gamma, and his mind was racing with dangerous possibilities. He assumed I'd called everyone here because of what happened earlier.
It might seem selfish to push all of that aside when it was so important. However, I wasn't avoiding the possibility that Lane's mate and child were in danger. I couldn't get it out of my head. That meant two members of my pack were out there, potentially enslaved by the same people who had Nefera.
I couldn't ignore that. I planned to do something about it, but we needed this not only for Nefera, Penelope, and me but for my family. I couldn't deny that we were broken.
