"Hey," Danny sits beside me on the porch steps. "Taylor's looking for you."
"Yeah," I sigh, refusing to look at him.
"Everything okay?" He nudges me gently. I hear the concern in his voice. He's giving me the chance to speak up, but he already knows something's wrong.
"I just needed a minute by myself," I mumble. "Could you tell Taylor I'll be another minute?"
"No," Danny sighs. He reaches out and takes my face, turning me to face him. I see the worry and the sadness in his brown eyes. "I'm going to sit here with you."
"Why?" I knit my eyebrows at him, trying to hide the fact my eyes were bloodshot.
"Because you need me," he gives me a sad smile. "And we all feel it."
"What do you mean by that?" I feel a knot in my stomach.
"We felt your sadness, your fear," Danny explains.
"Who?"
"All of us," he drops his hand. "Everyone in the pack."
