"I've got him, Luna," Kira assures me as Remy continues to try and break away from us. He wasn't happy about Ivan taking Pen-Pen with him, but I wasn't sure if that was because he wanted to go on a run or if it meant something else.
It was cute, but I could see why Ivan was worried. It was hard to imagine my daughter as anything but the sweet little baby who fit in my arms. I wasn't prepared to think of her as more than that now.
Especially not going through the same thing I was. To be so madly in love with someone that you felt insane. To need them more than you need air? That wasn't something I'd gotten over yet, so how could I pretend I was prepared to handle hers?
Still, what was my responsibility if Remy was Pen-Pen's mate? Did I encourage them to spend time together now so they had a history? Or did I sway my daughter to experience life outside him so that her story wasn't only about him?
