It took us a while before the children were satisfied that they'd received enough attention. Not only from me but from Ivan too.
The chill I'd felt before was gone. That same excitement I felt yesterday is back, and I know it's coming from the adults.
Most of them.
The tension from the small group near the large double doors is palpable, and I know I need to face them at some point.
My legs ache from crouching so long, so I reluctantly get up, and Ivan gives the children a playful growl.
"Alright," He declares, using the softest level of his alpha voice. "Give me back my Luna."
There was no way the kids didn't feel Ivan's amplified aura. Of course, we all did, but they weren't afraid of it like the adults. They squeal and giggle, some playfully latching onto me while others make a show of running away.
