I know that I'm dreaming, but it feels so real that I wonder if what I left behind was the dream.
"If we can stay here forever, would you be mad?" Nefera asks me with a smile. "It's pretty here."
We were in my favorite place in the mountains. It was quiet and isolated, and we didn't need to worry about anyone else bothering us.
"If you want to stay, that's what we'll do," I smirk, turning onto my side on the blanket and caressing her side. "I like having you to myself."
"Everyone will miss us," Nefera comes closer and rests her head on my chest. "Don't you think?"
"Probably," I chuckle before resting my hands on her back, tracing the lines of her tattoo. "I don't actually care."
"That's mean," Nefera giggles. "Everyone loves you."
"Yeah, but I love you more, so they can go screw themselves," I pull her up, so she straddles me. "I pick you over anyone else."
Nefera's smile falls, and I sit up, cupping her cheek.
