Chapter 44 - Chapter 43

"How did you manage to control her?" Lily asks Nycta with curiosity. There is chaos going on around the two with yelling, shouting, and people running around holding magic spells in their hands. It is nothing less than disastrous, yet it does not affect her jovial feelings at this moment.

She loves it when that whore suffers. And she would burn the whole place down if she could.

Nycta shakes her head slightly in response to the question: "It's not really Mind Control. The amount of mana that I would need to maintain such control over a long distance is too much for me right now. Maybe in the future, I can do it, though."

"Then what did you do?"

"Rather than Mind Control, I would say I planted a seed of negative feelings inside of it. Either anger, despair, humiliation, or things along those lines, the more it got worse, the more my seed would feed on its energy and magnify the emotions, bringing it to a breakout point."

"So basically you gave it more fuel so that it could burn brighter?"

Nycta nods with a smile: "That's a good analogy, yeah! My kind of fire is slightly more sinister in this case."

"Slightly?" A strange look from the masked girl. "You managed to push it from being lovey-dovey fuck my assy to using its bare hand to squish the eye of another whore?"

"It did not push it, per se. I only gave it a little nudge. It did the rest, not me." Nycta shrugs her shoulders innocently. "Buuuuuut..." She stretches her word out. "To at least hope that pathetic Hero does not heal that eye, I used almost 100 percent of the mana gathered from within the bitch to burn the wound."

"Do you think it's going to work?"

"You tell me! You saw that bastard used Light as the core for the spell right? You're the expert, not me."

The masked girl thinks for a while.

"Well, Void and Light have been known to cancel out each other in some cases. Maybe it would work? I don't know, to be honest."

Nycta sighs: "If it doesn't work, then I'll be pretty mad."

"Yeah! It is kinda frustrating. When we did all the damage and then they can just heal it back to normal."

"Have you talked to the twins? They probably understand more than we do. I mean, Yui does. Yuno...just let her have fun."

"I have. Yui said that the magic used was certainly not normal magic, but highly complicated Creation Magic. Magic runes were flying around, so probably it had a sequence of its own."

In Creation Magic, as the combination between elements becomes more and more complicated and time-consuming, the magic-user can create a predetermined sequence, called runes.

These runes are dependent on the caster. They can have whatever image the user wants, and they are simply programs created to store spells. The mana consumption is faster than at least three times the normal spells. Normal people would use a Manafused item to help them store mana to be able to cast these runes.

The only good thing about it is that it can help make complicated magic much faster than normal. This is especially helpful for the Level 7s with their complicated spells.

For example, if Sam was to store his elements down to runes, he would not have to wait for the spell to form when clashing the elements together in the case of Thunderstrike.

Instead, he would be able to almost instantly fire the spell, not leaving time for the 5 guys to use any protection magic. He would not have to suffer many wounds because of the delay in casting and the damage would have been greater due to instant cast.

But of course, with Sam's mana pool back then, it was a no. He was also just doing a test, he did not even know he could perform such a thing as Thunderstrike. So in the end, it is only theoretical.

Lily then continues: "There were at least 4 runes, so probably more than 4 Creation Magic spell was used."

"That's rough. I don't think I can match that kind of Creation Magic with just Void element alone."

"That bastard is really blessed, huh? There is nothing he doesn't have except how to be a man."

Nycta smiles confidently: "Our Sam does have that covered, doesn't he?"

Lily agrees with a clear nod: "Once he got away from that delusion, he has been improving a lot. It feels much better when he actually pays attention to our efforts. He didn't even accept the lunch I prepared for him just a month ago and now he is eating it from my hands. I consider that an absolute win."

Hearing those words, Nycta looks a little sad.

"I would like to make him a meal also. I mean, I can just borrow the vision of someone else to do it, but I feel like somehow it's not that sincere. And it's also about my cooking skill. I'm not very...um...confident."

"I can help you with it. Cooking has been a part of me ever since Sam got into my heart. The food was mostly eaten by me until very recently so I have a good grasp of my ability."

"Really?! Thanks a lot, Lily!! Just remember that I have...very bad cooking skills. The food that came out usually was edible yet somehow very disgusting. I don't know, maybe the seasoning is wrong or something..."

"We'll see what we can do."

But Lily stops for a little while and then continues: "Hey Nycta, just to be sure, did you put anything inside of us as well?" Lily looks slightly uncomfortable at the thought of being controlled like that.

"Do you want to?" Nycta has a smirk on her face.

"Of course, not!"

"If you are worried about whether or not I did it, then no. However, I will not hesitate when the time comes. If anyone of you turns into a threat to him, then your heads will explode."

"Understandable! I will also be sure to finish you off when the time comes."

Lily then points at the location of the blood, her eyes full of disgust.

"Let's take it away?"

"Yeah, let's go. Thanks for carrying that body, though."

The masked girl makes a big sigh: "How about I cast the Physical Enhancement spell on you and then we walk out?"

To which, Nycta shakes her head vigorously: "Nope. Nope. Nope. You do it. It's your spell, your mana. Don't waste it on someone like me."

"You just don't want blood on you."

"Don't act like you do."

"...Sometimes I really wonder..." Lily stops in the middle of the sentence.

It makes Nycta a little curious.

"Wonder what?"

"How can someone who rarely speaks online, be so talkative in real life."

The two walk towards the body of Marie, who is lying unconsciously on the ground. When her body hit the floor, it was cast on an Invisible spell from Lily, and the conscious mind was shut down by Nycta. This was why no one could find her.

Of course, if one was to look at the blood on the ground, one would have noticed that the pool kept getting bigger and bigger since the body never moved anywhere else.

"Lily...I'm blind...how do you expect someone blind to type..."

Nycta grabs Marie by the hair and pulls her to the side. She then proceeds to use her leg to push the left side of Marie facing up.

Lily's hands glow a white color.

Light magic: Laser Beam.

She shoots the beam at the wound of Marie, closing it up with the heat. The facial expressions of Marie change into a painful look but she never wakes up. Next, Lily's body glows up a yellow color.

Light magic: Physical Enhancement.

"Don't you have someone at home to borrow the vision?"

*Thud* *Thud* *Thud*

Nycta kicks Marie in the stomach heavily. The other party groans in pain.

"Not all the time. I don't want people around me to suspect anything if I keep bringing people over every day. And obviously, I'm not going to have a man in my house except for Sam."

Lily puts Marie on her shoulders very easily: "That makes sense. Ah, I forgot."

She takes out a syringe from the inside of her lab coat.

"You do have everything underneath that coat, don't you? What is it?" Nycta asks.

"Some medications to keep her alive. We don't want her dead yet, do we?"

"True. Is it painful?"

"Yes, yes it is! Very, to be exact."

"What else do you have in there?"

"Well, you know, tampons, pads, some Ibuprofen, some books, notes, sleeping pills, ... viagra."

"Viagra?"

"Viagra."

The two girls smile at that final remark.
