I stopped watching the two monsters that destroyed every rabbit that came close and turned to load up another magazine to continue the killing. Except, there were no bullets left. Even normal ammo was fully expended as the larger rabbits were basically sponges that kept on running full speed even with new holes through them.
Shanna looked at Price before looking at me.
"It's time newbie."
"For what?"
"For what? What do you think? It's time to use our skills, Price here has the ability to control fire, I can use telekenisis, Bryan can use wind and effectively alongside his mistress there. It's time we learn what you can do."
I could only tilt my head in confusion. Skills? But I don't have any skills. I don't have magic, I only have some weird Alpha/Monster blood running through me.
"Shanna, I think he turned off the menu when we first entered, he hasn't had a chance to look yet."
Shanna then smacked her head. "Ofcourse, makes sense since this is your first rodeo. Ok, listen up, first I want you to focus on seeing the menu again, then I want you to focus on seeing your status. It should show up with a bunch of numbers and things just like a video game. Next to that menu will be another screen that pops up, that list is your skill list. Since you just started you should only have 1 or 2 skills, maybe 3 since your special."
"Ummm ok I'll try..." I focused and imagined a screen showing up in front of me and within seconds I saw a hazy blue menu slowly forming, After it fully came into view I saw as it had several sub menus.

"It shows 4 different menus. One of them is even locked? What's that about?"
"Four? It should only show your status though? Price you ever hear anything about this?"
"No, never, as far as I know it's always just been your status and skill list."
"Hmm, well there has been those rumours of changes happening inside the tears lately, maybe that has something to do with it. Anyways, go ahead and focus on the status menu."
"Ok, but there is a skill menu next to it. Do I look at Status or skills?"
"Fuck... ok so we need to know your skills so look at skills. Man whatever you got is different since the status automatically brings up everyones skills already, I wonder what the difference is?" Price was starting to talk more and recalling how he was I knew this was an interesting topic for him.
[Skills]
[True Shifter] - Can absorb and utilize abilities of other creatures.
[Crossbreed] - Able to absorb bloodlines and incorporate them into user's own. The stronger the bloodline the more effect it will have on the user's body.
[Alpha Werewolf DNA] - Absorbed Werewolf DNA absorbed and capable of being used. Provides multiple skills based on bloodline of species: (3)
I was really confused by the whole thing, I was supposed to be just a Werewolf shifter but these skills.... Does this mean that I'm not just a werewolf? That's when I saw that both the Alpha Werewolf DNA skill aswell as the Status menu had a number in parenthesis next to it. I first focused on the skill first and a secondary window popped up and showed 3 different skills on it.
[Alpha Howl] - Can use the ability of an Alpha Werewolf and unleash a howl that can be heard for miles. Weaker werewolves will cower aswell as weaker creatures, But beware, Stronger or equal beings will take this as a challenge.
[Alpha Regeneration] - User's body now has the same powerful Regeneration ability as an Alpha Werewolf. Able to heal almost all wounds shy of Silver and decapitation.
[Alpha Transformation] - User can fully utilize the bloodline of an Alpha Werewolf and transform into a werewolf state. During Transformation stats will be doubled.
Holy shit this is insane, does this mean that if I can absorb some boss monsters blood that I can use their abilities? The potential started flashing through my brain as I could imagine all the different creatures that I wanted to absorb. OOO what about dragons? Could I absorb a dragon bloodline and breathe fire? or be covered in scales and have a set of badass wings?
"AHEM! Hey newbie, come back to us, care to share with the class? It's looking like the old guys are starting to fizzle out and they need some help."
I was shaken back to reality as I started to notice Shanna shaking me with one hand while controlling multiple sharp looking branches and sending them flying with a wave of her hand. Price was near the walls edge and a flamethrower was erupting from the palms of his hands as he fanned it back and forth to kill as many of the rabbits as possible.
"Newbie? Can you help us or are you dumbstruck by how useless your abilities are?" She only shook her head before focusing back on the fight before quickly shouting.
"If you're going to fight then fight something to fight with, if not get the fuck out of here!"
I smiled as I activated the Skill [Alpha Howl] and felt as my head and neck started to change. It was a weird feeling as only my neck and above started to change as fur grew from my skin and my face contorted into an elongated snout filled with sharp teeth, my ears lengthened to a point as I felt my eyes change inside my skull. I felt a slight pain from the change but I started to feel a power surging from my throat to the point where I couldn't hold it in any more and I let out a loud roar that shook the air around me.
AAAARRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOO
The people around me held their ears as a trickle of blood started to appear. Barton and Bryan are stunned as they see me unleashing the power of an Alpha like this. The hordes of rabbits stop dead in their tracks as they start to shake in terror. Elder and Alexander look back at the new Alpha with a wide grin on their faces.
"So his power awakened, Do you think it's time?" Alexander asks while still looking towards the source of the howl.
"No, look at him, only his head changed, somethings wrong with his transformation."
I felt all the eyes on me as my skill ended and my semi transformation ended, I felt something deep within myself shift around before calming back down.
Looking out from ontop of the wall I could see the horde or rabbits just stop and looking towards me. I could almost hear the rapid thumping of them all like a metal bass drumline.
I felt a hand touch my shoulder as a voice spoke up.
"You're not a full werewolf are you Alaric?" The Elder said softly as I turned to look at him with wide eyes.
"I can tell, I knew something was off when I first met you but still I smelt the blood of a werewolf within you, I bet it has something to do with your little accident in picking the wrong syringe back at the lab right? I wonder what kind of monster they mixed you with?"
"Don't think to deeply about it Harmon, the boy saved us, you know aswell as I do that we were reaching our limit. The horde stopped and we can regroup before we start to clear the Tear. Alaric listen, I don't fully understand why only your head transformed, but what you did saved these two old men, for that I thank you." Alexander bowed his head for a moment before turning and walking out of the Tear alongside the Elder and a few others who were packing up some of the corpses of the Rabbits.
Barton came over to me with excitement on his face. "That was so awesome, I've never been able to use the Howl of an Alpha. I gotta admit I'm a bit jealous, But I won't be outshined by the newbie so I plan on training hard ya got me? Just remember, No pack has more than one Alpha, if it comes time to determine, than we will have to go by tradition." He said that last part with pure seriousness but soon after coughed and smiled to try and break up the tension.
"But let's hope it doesn't come to that, I got a good feeling about you Alaric, I knew I made the right choice." He patted my back and walked away. The others from Alpha group came over and were surprised by my power but how could I tell them that it was just a part of my power, that it wasn't even really my main ability either.
For now though everyone was leaving the Tear and Just before I left I looked back at the Rabbits one last time, As I looked I saw a Rabbit running towards me with a slightly reddish brown sheen to its fur. It wasn't frozen like the others and instead seemed hell bent on reaching me before I left. Not seeing the harm in waiting around I bent down and kept my eyes out for any possible actions from the others.
The Redish brown Rabbit finally appeared in front of me and it seemed almost out of breath but seconds later I saw a flash of color as it dashed toward me and bit my hand.
