The morning sun's warmth hit my face, making my eyes sting. I slowly opened my eyes, forgetting everything for a few seconds, trying to get up but failed miserably. Realizing the peaceful sleeper next to me had his arm wrapped around my waist clinging tightly making it difficult to get up. Trying my best not to wake him I removed his arm, grabbed the sheet that had fallen from the window and placed it back up, after fixing the sheet to where the sun wasn't very bright in the room, I grabbed a change of my camo genes, my black belt, and a white tank top and headed to the next room located in the basement with a big lock on the door just in case. I opened the door to the bathroom that somehow still works, and turned the water onto the shower. Twisting the knob where the water was warm I got in. Letting the warm water fall over my head as I hugged myself closely, goose bumps appeared on my arms sending shivers down my spine, I began to blink slowly as memories played slowly in my mind. My mother danced in the wind, wearing her favorite brightly yellowed dress, her hair still as beautiful as ever, but in the memory something strange, something new happened… she called for me, " Rowan… Rowan come, come dance with me" I started crying but instead of each individual tear sending stabbing pain throughout my body, they were… peaceful, if not calm. I lifted my face to the shower head letting the water wash away the last remaining pieces of the memory and calming my emotions. Moments later I turned the water off and stepped out, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around myself tightly, "Finally done, maybe now I can relax for a while with Alex… Just maybe I hope." I got dressed, tightening my belt to the last hole I costumed so it would fit me correctly. Looking in the half shattered mirror I broke while having a mental harm moment, I was ready, I headed back to the room after placing the lock back on the door. Alex was still sound asleep, his hair messy from last night, his breathing peaceful and calm, his skin smooth with a glint of shine from the sun, he was my perfect. I sat lightly next to him, gliding my hand lightly through his hair, moving it away from his eyes, and kissed his forehead. He moved, laying his back completely on the bed. I tried my best not to giggle but found myself still a little tired from using all my energy. I decided to sleep longer so I laid my head lightly on his bare chest, and wrapped my leg around his waist. Within moments I was asleep, at first seeing the sun's beautiful glint on a candle jar then…. nothing.
