Chapter 145 - Chapter 145

The hell's he talking about. I didn't have anything to do with the flowers, or any of the decorations in face. "My King." Jaysa spoke politely. "I am hungry. I would like to get something to eat."

"Oh, and she speak like a true wife should." The man chuckled.

"Of course. I would only choose the best." Danzel spoke and looked down at his wife. "Even if she was a peasant." Danzel laughed.

"Oh dear. You're so funny." Jaysa laughed. Inside, she was glaring at the man. He was making fun of her and he knew she couldn't counteract to comment.

"Well. I might go over to buffet table so my wife can eat." Danzel grabbed Jaysa's hand and laid I on his arm. "Shall we go?" Jaysa nodded.

The two made it over to the table that had a spread of food. Jaysa let go of her husband's arm and grabbed a small plate. Danzel stood close to her as she filled her plate. There was only one mat at the table. He was cutting meat for the guest. Everyone one else was further way chatting with one another.

"I picked those flowers huh. I don't remember doing such a thing. Why did you lie to that man?" Jaysa asked.

"I have to make it seem that you have some kind of interest in your husband's birthday. You were at the library the entire time we were putting together the party." Danzel replied a bit irritated.

"That's because I didn't want to interfere with your celebration preparations." Danzel grabbed Jaysa's arm, which almost made her drop the plate.

"Why are you acting like this?" Jaysa kept her eyes away from her husband.

"Let go of my arm. People will start thinking that we are fighting. That won't look good for you." Danzel looked around and saw no one looked their way. He turned back to his wife.

"Are you mad that I am celebrating my birthday?" Danzel let go of Jaysa's arm. He folded his arms against his chest. "Is this by change because I didn't ask you about your birthday?" The hand that was picking up some food froze in place. It only last for a second, but Danzel still caught it. She placed the food on her plate. Danzel grinned. "So that's what it is." Jaysa didn't look at her husband. Her eyes were focused on the food.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Jaysa made her way down the table. Her husband stopped in front of her. Jaysa looked at the man that now stood in front of her.

"I know that we haven't really talked to much about ourselves. Many things have been over looked."

"Don't worry about it." Jaysa moved her eyes away from the mans. "It's not that big of a deal." Danzel grabbed Jaysa's chin and pulled her to face him.

"Jaysa. I have been with you for a year now. I know when you are pouting."

"I'm not pout—"

"Yes you are." Danzel cut Jaysa off. "You are mad because I never asked you about your birthday. But yet, here I am celebrating mine." Jaysa stayed quiet. Danzel leaned down and kissed Jaysa's lips in a soft peck. He pulled his head away. Jaysa was red from the sudden action. He kissed her and in front of all these people.

"How can you just kiss me like that?" Jaysa's voice was barely above a whisper. Danzel smirked at the red faced woman.

"No one cares." Jaysa darted her eyes to the side.

"I do." Danzel couldn't help but laugh. Jaysa looked back at her husband. "If you really want to know when my birthday is. It's before yours. Three months before yours." Jaysa spoke. Danzel waited for Jaysa to continue. She stayed quiet so he spoke up.

"What day?"

"The seventeenth." Jaysa replied.

"So yours is on Oct 17th." Danzel spoke. Jaysa just nodded. "And mine is December 8th." Danzel was thinking in his head. "We are almost three months apart. But if your birthday was a month ago. How old are you?" Danzel questioned. Hoping she would give him the information.

"I am eighteen now." Jaysa said after sighing.

"So you're only a year younger than me."

"Yes." Jaysa nodded.

"To tell you the truth. I thought you were much younger than that. I mean. You look so much younger than your age." Danzel scratched the back of his head.

"It's because I was low on nutrition and wasn't able to eat anything but water downed soup for several years." Danzel pulled Jaysa into a hug. Her face went bright right. "W…What are you doing all of a sudden?" Jaysa stuttered. Her body went stiff. Danzel chuckled.

"I'm hugging you."

"I know that." Jaysa replied.

"I'm sorry." Jaysa heard Danzel speak out softly. Jaysa's body relaxed in the man's arms. "I never want you to go through that again. I will protect you. Keep you form not going hungry. As long as it's in my power. I will do whatever I need to do to keep you happy, safe, and fed." Jaysa couldn't help but smile. They have really gone a long way in their relationship in the year they have been together. Day by day. The two would keep learning things about each other.

"It's fine." Jaysa spoke. Danzel separated their bodies and looked down at his wife. "I really am glad that I have met you. Even though I thought you were a complete jerk. You changed in a way I never expected."

"In a good way I hope." Danzel smirked Jaysa grinned at the man.

"Guess you will never know." Jaysa teased.

"Hey. I thought we were passed the teasing phase." Danzel spoke out. Jaysa giggled.
