Chapter 122 - Chapter 122

Danzel was in the strategy room with Joseph. They were again going over some details about the expansion that Danzel wanted to do for the Kingdom.

"Sire, I do want to let you know. I have heard some disturbing news."

"And what is that?" Danzel questioned.

"There has been talk about another Kingdom thinking that you have become really cocky since you have become King."

"What?" Danzel asked surprised. "What Kingdom is this thinking such a thing?"

"The saying is; it's coming from Giohark. The King thinks that in the year that you have taken over the throne, he believes you are taking power to your head, and you are growing too big."

"How is that? We just fixed what my uncle fucked up before my father passed. I had fixed our Kingdom and brought the Kingdom back to the peaceful ways it was before." Danzel responded to the older man. His voice showed that he was a bit irritated to even hear that that another Kingdom thinks he was overflowing with greed.

"Sire, please don't get mad. I also learned another interesting fact about this as well."

"Oh, and what is that?" Danzel wanted to know if it was negative as well.

"It seems that your uncle is actually quite close with the King at Giohark. So, I don't know if this may be another scheme from your uncle." Danzel nodded his head.

"That actually makes sense. No other Kingdom's have said bad things about me, well what I haven't heard anyway. So, it could be that my uncle may have set this up at the start, maybe by trying to start a war?" Danzel stopped for a moment. "Does that mean that my uncle wants to see if he can kill me in a war?"

"That may be possible. His other schemes seemed to not work. So, I just want to tell you to be cautions of what is going on. We don't need to have a war, especially right now. You haven't been King for less than a year and a half. That would look bad."

"Wouldn't it look worse for the other party if they try to pick a fight with a Prince that just took the throne not too long ago?"

"Yes, but if those rumors are going around and many people believe them, it could be that they would think it would be best to stop you before you get out of hand."

"Wow. I can't believe what my uncle would do to try to get this crown." Danzel leaned his head down and shook it back in forth in disappointment. His uncle had tried to get Danzel to step down from the throne, and all his schemes would involve others, so it would never be routed back to him. Thinking back, he couldn't help but smirk at the man's cleverness. But he needed to stop him. He needed to show that he was not some insane power greed King that took over the throne. He wants to show the world that he is meant to be on the throne, and that he could safely raise and protect his land and the people that live in it. "I-,"

"I got all the information!" A female voice broke Danzel's speech. He looked over and saw that his wife hand slammed open the door making it slam against the wall. He stood up straight and looked at his wife.

"What information did you get?" Joseph asked.

"I got the information from the man that is in the cell." Jaysa's voice was high with excitement.

"What!" Danzel yelled out. He turned to look at Jaysa. "Didn't I tell you to go nowhere near that man?" His voice was loud and echoed in Jaysa's eardrums.

"I know that you said something-,"

"No I told you not to go near that man. We don't know anything-,"

"And I just said I got all the information that you need." She cut off her husband's words. "His name is Levi Crimson. He was traveling when he was robbed of thieves who took his stuff. He barely made it over to our Kingdom. He was just hungry and thirsty. He wouldn't have fought back if he didn't think the men would hurt him. So he is not a spy at all. He was just a man that had a misfortune things happen to him." Danzel stood there for a moment to take in what he just heard and allowing it to digest. "So now, you know about this man. You can release him right!" Jaysa sweetly asked with her head slanted to the side.

"Wait, wait." Danzel put on of his hands against his head while the other was waiving in front of him before he spoke. "How did you even get any of this information? I was told by my guards that he didn't speak the language. I even personally went down to talk to him, and got nothing but the silence treatment."

"That's because "you are a beautiful woman", or that was what he said at least." She had a hit of teasing in her voice.

"What? Are your being swoon by this man?" Danzel responded back.

"Nope, just food and beauty to ask him questions, that was all you needed." She couldn't help but have a big grin on her face. She was able to get several items out of the man that she knew would take several days if a guy had tried to get the same information. "So can you please release the man?" Danzel looked at Jaysa.

"I'm not going to release someone just because he told you a bit of nonsense that of course, you gobbled up with glee."

"The hell is wrong with you? I got the information that you wanted."

"And how do you know that all the information he gave you was the truth?" Danzel questioned Jaysa.

"How would you know if you tortured him? He would give you the information if it was by will or force. What is the point of lying?"

"There are several reasons." Danzel yelled.

"But"

"I won't believe anything that he had told you. I bet all of it was a lie." He turned away from his wife.

"Can't you at least talk to the man before assuming that he told me nothing but lies? Isn't it that men would tell woman things that they wouldn't tell normal people? Isn't that what they say? So why won't you believe,"

"She is right Sire." Joseph spoke out on her behalf. "Many men would tell a woman that they have committed murder before they would tell authorities. That is how men are." He looked over and smiled at Jaysa. "I believe that everything that that man had told Jaysa was in true fact." He looked back over to Danzel. "Why don't you go ask the man the same questions?" Danzel took in a sigh. He knew that if he didn't talk to the man that Jaysa would be upset with him for who knows how long. Also, the priest was right. He should at least talk to the man himself. He looked over at his wife who was fuming over the small argument that they were starting.

"Fine." Danzel looked away from Jaysa for a moment and then made eye contact. "I will go see this Levi, and see for myself whether or not what he says is true. Jaysa almost jumped with joy. She would soon be able to see the man free from the shackles. The King walked out of the room and the young Queen followed him.
