Jaysa was led down a hall that she did not recognize. She saw many portraits of men and sometimes with women sitting at the man's side. She was unsure to whom they could be, but since they were on the walls, they must be important people. The caregiver stopped at two double doors that had a design on it. The design could only be explained with squiggles and some that looked like flowers. She knew right away that this was not the correct room.
"Um, I think you brought me to the wrong room." She looked at the young maid. The young caregiver just shook her head.
"This is your new chambers." She spoke to Jaysa. Jaysa looked at the woman a little bit longer. The maid opened the door and Jaysa sighed before walking in. She heard the sound of the door close behind her.
So this is my new room, huh? She thought. She looked at her surroundings. There were lanterns sitting around the room bringing in the light. The room was on ocean blue color and the room itself was enormous. She looked at the painting on the walls. They were made of landscapes or portrait of people and animals. Jaysa walked to her left side and noticed the long oak desk and a full length mirror next to it. What caught her attention was the huge bed that sat in the middle of the room. Four posts surrounded the bed and translucent material hung from the top. It was a silky blue color. On both sides of the bed was night table. One on the right sides of the rooms was a large window that was covered by blue curtains. "Whoever decorated this room, loves the color blue." She spoke out to no one in particular.
"What? Is there something wrong with the color?" Jaysa turned to see her husband. He wore a white toothy grin. "I always thought it was a nice color, so calming." He looked around. His hands were on his waist. Jaysa's eyes were narrowed as she glared at the man that stood in front of her.
What is he doing here anyway? She thought. He acted as if he belonged in the room. She decided to question him. "What are you doing here?" Danzel turned to look at her. His grin couldn't get any bigger.
"This is my room. I can be here if I want." He replied to his wife. "Did you think that we would sleep in different rooms? We are married now." Jaysa's eyes burned with anger and her hands were in a tight fist. "Oh don't tell me you really thought that." He almost laughed. "A wow, you did." The way the man was acting was only building hatred towards him. Jaysa couldn't be in this room anymore. She had to get out. So without a word, Jaysa stormed passed her husband towards the doors. She grabbed the handle on the door and proceeded to open it. The door was suddenly slammed shut. Danzel was now standing behind her both his hands were on either side of her, pushing pressure on the door to keep it closed.
"Where do you think you're going?" He almost growled.
"Somewhere other than here." She replied. She heard the man growled at her response.
"You are my wife, and you will do as I say." Danzel grabbed the girl by her waist and lifted her up off her feet. He walked towards the bed. Danzel tossed Jaysa onto her back and crawled on top of her. Fear took over the anger she felt before. She was going to be attacked. She didn't want this to happen. She began to struggle against the man that was now straddling her. She was kicking and pushing at the man's chest, trying to break free. "You will be mine." Danzel hissed. He finally had her. He was not going to let her go no matter what. Jaysa was scared past all odds. She didn't care if he was nice to her when he took her to the baths, or when he saved her from the drunk earlier. He was still a man. Only one thing he wanted was her body. Danzel lifted up his hips just to flip Jaysa onto her stomach. He pulled down the zipper of her dress, loosening the front.
"Stop it." Jaysa yelled out. She tried to hold up the dress so it would not fall down. She couldn't believe this. Tears were threatening to fall down. She remembered this exact pain when she was younger. Danzel grabbed Jaysa's right arm painfully and yanked her onto her back. She could now see Danzel eyes. They were full of lust and anger. She was scared beyond her wits. If she let this continue, she really would be raped by this man. Her left hand went up and smacked Danzel hard in the face. Danzel stopped what he was doing. His eyes lost the lust and anger they once held. He looked at Jaysa, who was able to crawl out from under him while he was in shock, and was squished up against the headboard of the bed. Her legs were scrunched up to her chest as close as the dress would allow. Her arms were wrapped around her legs. He saw the tears in her eyes that were threatening to fall.
"Jaysa," Danzel spoke softly. He reached out a hand to touch her.
"Don't touch me!" She yelled at the man. Danzel pulled his hand away from her. He looked into her eyes. He could see the fear in them. He had done that to her. He was the one that put the fear into those eyes. Guilt rushed though him and he was unable to look at her. He shifted his eyes elsewhere. He felt a sudden sting on his cheek. Danzel touched the area of his face and felt liquid on his face. He knew right away that he was bleeding. His eyes turned back to Jaysa. She had smacked him, but not from anger, but fear. He studied her for a moment and realized that her body was shaking uncontrollably.
