Soon after Qi Yan got his breath back, we entered the car back and Qi Yan insisted on driving. Looks like he won't be letting me touch the wheels for a long time. Shame.
We had finally reached the Qi mansion and I was getting a bit nervous. I mean I was finally meeting his family properly after our engagement this time. The car stopped as soon as we entered the gate. Qi Yan looked at me and asked, "Are you ready?". I looked at him signed and replied "NO!". Qi Yan stretched out his hand to gently stroke my head. "If you need any help or if you're feeling uncomfortable just give me a sign and I bring you away," he muttered softly. I nodded at him as he gently retracted his hand. The male servant who was standing in front of our car was looking quite embarrassed as he watched us. My face blushed as I noticed the male servant. I unclicked my seatbelt and opened the door. Qi Yan followed me out of the car as I opened the back door and bought the bag of gifts out. Qi Yan brought the rest out and followed me inside. I stood at the front of the front door of the mansion, signed and gently knocked.
The door opened I saw a little girl dressed in black and white who had opened the door. "Who is it?" she muttered, "Oh, it's young master Qi, please come in,". I entered the living room to be caught surprised when multiple eyes turned towards me. "Yan'er*(1), Hui Qing you guys have arrived, do come inside and have a sit," an old voice shouted. I turned to look at the person who had called out to us. It was Old Master Qi, Qi Yan's grandfather. He looked older than when I saw him 3 years ago at his 70-year-old birthday party. I handed the present and gifts to the maid who had come rushing to help me. I waited patiently for Qi Yan as he did the same thing to the butler. Qi Yan caught up to me and we walked together to the living room. "Yan'er, Hui Qing sit next to me," Lin Hui Fen said. She was sitting upright next to Qi Yan's father, but her face was smiling fakely, putting on the act of a kind stepmother, but she wasn't fooling anyone. I had asked someone to investigate her, Qi Ming Feng and Wen Chao Xing. So, Qi Yan's birth mother, Wen Chao Xing was the daughter of a famous businessman working in the mining industry. She and Qi Ming Feng had a contract marriage like other businessmen' children. Liu Hui Fen was Wen Chao Xing's best friend. Who've known that her best friend was having an affair with her husband? Qi Jiang is younger than QI Yan by four years which means that the two adulters even had a child before she died. Wen Chai Xing died in a car crash. Which is quite weird. I should ask Qi Yan more about it later, somehow, I think her mother's death isn't what it seems. Whilst I was lost in thought Qi Yan had already answered his stepmother by saying "I rather not," and proceeded to grab my hand and sit on a sofa directly opposite them. We were next to his other family members.
"QI YAN DON'T BE SO RUDE, MY MUM'S TALKING TO YOU," shouted Qi Hu. His voice was so loud that I almost trembled in fear. I looked at Qi Yan who gently smirked and replied, "And so?". I almost laughed at his comment. I mean it was true, Qi Yan didn't have to care for his stepmother. they had no blood relationship. "QI YAN," Qi Ming Feng began however he was shot silenced when his father slammed his walking stick on the ground. "Yan'er and Hui Qing have just arrived here. Deal with your scrabbling elsewhere at another time," commanded Qi Yu. He turned to look at me and gently muttered "Hui Qing next time you come and visit us there is no need to bring so much stuff. It'll only benefit them into thinking you can be taken advantage of. Hui Qing how are your parents?". Wow, that was one way to make a dig at your family in front of your granddaughter-in-law. Back in my first life, I remember that he did the same thing. In my first life, he was one of the very few people who bothered about me, hence I've got a good impression of him. "Okay, Grandpa Qi. My parents are still the same as they always are," I replied. Oops, I had forgotten that in this lifetime I don't address him as such. Just as I was going to make an excuse, Qi Yan beat me to it. "Don't mind Hui Qing, grandpa I asked her to clal you that. It sounds more close then grandfather," explained Qi Yan. Grandpa Qi nodded at his explanation and asked me to call him that if the future.
"Oh right, Qi Yan shouldn't you introduce your fiancé to your relatives?" Qi Yu asked.
