How was everyone's Christmas holiday?
Back to the story:
"Sitting on your left is little auntie's family. Gu Gu *(1) and Gu Zhang*(2) own an architecture company. They've two sons. My bie di*(3)," muttered Qi Yan as he gently gestured towards the two boys. They look bloody identical. In my past life, I don't think I've met them before. They must be twins seeing how they're identical. "They're twins. The only difference between those two is there is a mole on Yeung Choi Ming's face. And his younger brother doesn't," whispered Qi Yan as I nodded. The older one walked up towards me and stuck his hand out to shake mine. I took his hand gently and muttered a greeting. "Hello, sister-in-law. I'm Yeung Choi Ming. It's nice to meet you. I heard you majoring in fashion and design, so I was wondering if you had any free time to look over the designs I drew and give some feedback. I wish to major in fashion and design as well," explained Yeung Choi Ming. I nodded and muttered "sure, I'll be happy to do so,".
His brother came up behind Choi Ming and waved me a greeting. "Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Yeung Choi Shan," he grunted. I nodded at him and asked, "What do you wish to major in?". Yeung Choi Shan stood silent and gently suggested Software Engineer. Wow, software engineering is a good major I suppose. A difficult one though. "Good luck," I muttered whilst flashing him a smile. He smiled back but walked back towards his chair. I gently clutched Qi Yan's hand and exclaimed that these two brothers would have a good future to look forward to. He nodded in agreement but whispered solemnly, "as long as they don't engage in this family fight,". I nodded against his words. Sometimes the fight for inheritance would affect those who didn't want anything to do with it. For example, Qi Yan. I'm so glad that I didn't have to deal with this family feud. Thankfully father was the only son and auntie wanted nothing to do with the company, she much prefers to spend her retirement in peace.
Glossary:
1. Gu Gu is how you addressed your father's sister.
2. Gu Zhang is how you address your Gu Gu's husband.
3. In this case Yeung Choi Ming and Yeung Choi Shan are referred to as 'bie' instead of a brother because they don't share the same surname. So technically they don't have any claim toward the inheritance from their maternal grandfather.
