Chereads / His Bride Not Mate / Chapter 3 - Chapter 2.

Chapter 3 - Chapter 2.

Heavy rocks rolled down the mountains in a speed of light and worse, they were rolling in her direction, they were coming for her. She tried so hard to lose them but it proved to be a chore as they were as heavy as they were big this, smashed anything in its wake.

She stretched out her hand towards me, urging me to take it and save her. I stared helplessly at the hand that I so badly wanted to grab.

Unfortunately, the moment I reached out to grab those hands , we were instantly separated and taken to a different location.

"Save me Nelson."

Who is she?

"Nelson." I could hear her cry, but I was helpless. I couldn't do anything for her even though I badly wanted to. I couldn't find her.

"Nelson!!!" She cried.

How do I find her, when I don't even know anything about her, except that she is extremely beautiful and has ebony black hair, and those piercing sky blue eyes. Other than those details, I Know nothing else of how she looks.

My nightmares again. I checked the time and realized I had only slept for thirty minutes. It's not even 1am yet. I stand up and make myself a cup of tea and continue with my normal daily life. I needed to find her but I cannot seem to get my hands on her. She feels so close, yet so far away. Like someone who didn't want to be found. "Are you in danger my mystery woman, are you searching for me just like I am searching for you?"

To pass time by I carried on with as much activities as possible, I roamed my house freely while everyone but the guards were asleep. Finally when it was ten o'clock, Matt arrived and we set out on our trip. "Nelson."

"Hmm." When Matt called for my attention I realized I had been speaking to myself and wished I could hit him hard. He was fond of doing this. Ever since that night, the night of my encounter with a mystery woman, whenever I had even the slightest thoughts of her, Matt would always come in the middle. At Least it's better than seeing his face in my dreams.

"What is it?"

"Don't give me that cold shoulder okay. Look there, we've arrived at your soon to be bride's home."

I take a peek out the window to my chagrin. The view alone causes me to frown. What the heck was that?

I knew the Alpha of the Crescent moon lived on a mountain, but the house is nowhere to be found, does that mean we have to drive into the mountain? Was the house in the mountain?

To think I would go through all this nonsense just to please those disgusting old scumbags, it's better if I protest and kill them later. That way I wouldn't have to go through such ridiculous troubles again. "Turn this car around, take me back to the villa." I told the driver.

"I'm sorry Nelson, but that's going to be an impossible fit  and you know it.

"Keep driving."

Matt has always been the only one who can question my decisions. We were the only ones privy to the information as to why he enjoyed such a privilege but at the moment that was a very unimportant detail.

"Sooner or later, not having a bride or mate is gonna be a problem. So let's just go there and see for ourselves, who knows you may like her."

Yeah. May. If I go there and I don't like her then that's going to be the end of this nonsense right? Okay, let's go see this woman.

I don't know what mystery woman did to me but it's been two weeks and I cannot seem to get my mind off her. I've been looking for her non stop in every nook and cranny of this town, even though I've been very discreet about it. She seemed to be nonexistent. Either that or she didn't want to be found.

That's not a problem for now, it's best if  she stays hidden until I can settle things. No one must know about that day, otherwise she will be in danger, and I won't be able to live with myself if that happens.

The car stopped on the pathway, I was about to scold the driver, but I finally understood why. There were three different paths leading to three different places. We chose the wrong one and we're lost. This is annoying. The driver is also lost, and that's because he had to replace the actual driver and take directions, he was doing quite a good job just a moment ago until we arrived here. If we wanted to get there then we had to start walking.

I try to find the other with the most footprints, if possible, I try to find traces of other werewolves, but this only ends up putting us in a more difficult situation. It seems like these three territories were marked with one scent meaning only one wolf owned these territories, but then I couldn't find the main path because I could sense that tons of wolves had been to this place, even now, I could smell two fresh wolves taking the middle path. I want to give up and turn around but just as we're about to leave, I spot a small boy walking out of the pathway on the left. He donned a red beret on his head, and he had blue eyes. He was skinny and pale looking, and also very dirty, he carried on his shoulders a patched red bag. He looked really haggard I must say.

"Ask him." I told the driver.

"Excuse me little boy"

We're trying to find our way to Alpha Devian. Do you think you can point us in the right direction?"

The young boy looked at us as if we were some kind of muggers.

He scoffed at us but replied anyway. "This mountain is a bit tricky. The first path leads to the training ground for the wolves, the one on the right is for people like me, who are hunters, and the one in the middle is the place you're looking for." He tells us. Before I could thank him, Matt walked over and handed him a hundred bucks.

"Thank you for your help."

"Don't bother, and tell your friend over there, to stop judging people through his eyes. I could feel him cursing at me while he was wanking me with those eyes of his. You don't know what the reason for anyone's condition could be now do you. Have a nice day sirs."

I felt insulted and terrible at that moment when he said those words to me, after all he helped us even knowing the reason for which I looked at him with such eyes. However I could not bring myself to talk back to the boy, for some reason, I felt nervous.

While he walked away I battled with myself as to whether or not I should apologize to him. I knew he was right and even though he had shown us the way, there was still that nagging feeling that I couldn't trust him. Besides, it's getting dark. I could feel Matt glaring at me behind my back. I took a deep sigh and apologized.

"Thank you for your help, it was wrong of me to judge you." I told him.

The child waves goodbye while he keeps on walking. Sending us off with a farewell and going his way.

I now regret regarding that kid as honest and genuine. Only if I had protested and disregarded his help then maybe we wouldn't had fallen into such a stupid trick.
