I finally made it back home. I stopped my slow ascent to my room, the fact that I considered this death trap home shocked me and left me listless for a while. I had apparently been standing there for too long because a wary maid had gently asked me if I needed anything.
Shaking my head and pasting a fake smile, I resume my journey trying not to let my sentiments get to me. Finally entering my room I took a long shower purposely ignoring the fact that I had yet to greet Nelson, it wasn't like he cared if I got back safely. I was just a pawn in his convoluted chess game and as of the moment he had no need for me.
