"Don't be silent," said Hayam. The man had a small smile on his face. "I understand that you have concerns and jealousy of me. I'm sincere if you want to check the contents of my cellphone. I will prove to you that I can trust you completely. I'm not your ex who is secretly lying behind your back."
Vania smiled. For some reason she felt Hayam's words were a little funny.
"Where?" Vania finally received Hayam's cell phone. She opened messages, incoming calls, phone contacts and gallery. There, she found nothing.
Hayam's cell phone is very simple in its contents. There are only important messages from colleagues. Even though there is a family group, it's just for sharing information and exchanging news. There are many contacts of Hayam's colleagues. Everything is neatly arranged without any names using a secret code.
"How? Safe, right?" Hayam smiled triumphantly.
"Yes. Everything is neat," said Vania. She returned the phone to Hayam again. "Do you want to check my phone?"
"If you don't mind, of course I will," said Hayam. "I want to know what nickname you gave me on your phone."
Vania's small laugh leaked out. "Oh, you're so flirty, huh," commented Vania. She unlocked her cell phone and gave it to Hayam.
"May I change?" asked Hayam. The man immediately looked for his name on Vania's cellphone.
"What do you want to change?" Vania stared fixedly at Hayam. She wanted to know what other funny things went through the man's mind.
"I changed the name of my dear or handsome husband," replied Hayam.
"It's up to you," said Vania resignedly. She turned back to her laptop screen and finished her resignation letter.
Vania sent the resignation letter to Rosa's email. Her heart smiled with relief because she finally dared to cut off the toxic working relationship with Rosa.
Meanwhile, Hayam was still busy with Vania's cell phone. He changed his nickname on the friend list of Vania's cell phone. After that, he sent some cute and beautiful photos of Vania to his chat message.
Not long after, an unknown number called Vania's cell phone. Hayam was a little surprised and curious.
"Honey, there's an incoming call," said Hayam. "You want to receive it?"
"Just pick you up. I want to go to the bathroom," Vania got up from her seat. She could no longer contain the urge to defecate. "If it's not important, you delete and block the number."
"Okay," said Hayam. The man let Vania into the bathroom. He received the call.
"Hello, who is this?" said Hayam.
No answer for a while. Hayam frowned. He was surprised by the caller.
"Hello, what's wrong with the connection?" asked Hayam then. "This is Vania Angela's number. I am her fiancé, Hayam."
"Fiancé?" the caller replied in a surprised tone of voice.
"Yes. I'm Vania's fiancé. What's the need to call Vania? Who's this from?" Hayam was curious about the identity of the caller. Because of that, he railed against a lot of questions.
"I'm Dio," answered the caller. Now it was Hayam's turn to be surprised. He did not expect that the one who called Vania was Dio. Even so, he had no intention of evading.
He is Vania's fiancé and Dio is Vania's ex-lover. There was nothing for Hayam to be afraid of.
"What's the matter calling Vania?" asked Hayam. "You want to take care of your treatment costs at the hospital?"
"No. I just want to talk for a moment," said Dio. "Tomorrow I will call Vania."
"You can talk to me about anything. Vania has resigned from her job and she probably won't be able to meet you after this," explained Hayam.
"Vania resigned? Since when?" replied Dio. The man became more and more restless after listening to Hayam's answer. There are many things that Dio doesn't know about Vania and Hayam's relationship.
"Vania stopped working from today," said Hayam. "She doesn't need to torture herself by working under pressure from your fiancé named Rosa. And, you also have to be self-aware not to bother Vania anymore. You should stop contacting Vania and focus on Rosa. Don't make Vania's position in a difficult situation."
Dio was furious to hear Hayam's words. Without many words, he immediately turned off the phone line.
Hayam just stared at the screen of Vania's cellphone. He knew that Dio had turned off his phone.
"Honey, who's on the phone?" she asked. Sje had finished from the bathroom.
"Oh, no one," said Hayam. He put Vania's cellphone on the table and hugged Vania who was already in front of him.
"Who? Looks like you talked a lot with the caller earlier," said Vania. Her left hand was trying to reach for her cell phone.
"You'll be annoyed if I tell you who called you," said Hayam. "Who is it? Tell me what's my caller's name? Rosa?" guess Vania.
She just sent a letter of resignation to Rosa. She thought Rosa immediately read the email and called Vania.
"Unfortunately, no," said Hayam.
"So, who's calling me?" Vania chased the answer from Hayam. Hayam was silent for a while.
"Dio. Your ex-boyfriend," said Hayam.
Vania's eyes widen immediately. Her heart was beating faster than usual.
"What are you talking to Dio?" asked Vania nervously.
"You look really worried. Do you still like him?" replied Hayam. He squinted suspiciously.
"Oh, it's not like that. But-"
"But what?" said Hayam. This time Hayam's tone was higher than before. "You look like someone who was caught cheating. In fact, I am your real partner, Vania. Soon, we will be married."
"I got it, Hayam," said Vania.
"That means you don't have to worry even though I picked up your phone when Dio called you," said Hayam firmly.
Vania stared blankly at Hayam. Hayam's words are true. She shouldn't be upset when Hayam picked up the call from Dio. Even so, she was still afraid. Hayam released his arm from Vania's body.
"I think your feelings for that man are completely over," said Hayam. His gaze dropped in disappointment. Hayam's steps moved away from Vania.
Vania's eyes widened when she saw Hayam walking towards the bedroom door. "Hayam! Wait for me!" Vania ran after the man. She hugged Hayam's body tightly from behind. "Forgive me. I misspoke."
Hayam's steps stopped. The man let go of Vania's embrace and turned his body to face Vania. Vania looked at Hayam with teary eyes. She was still holding Hayam's fingers tightly.
"I was just surprised," said Vania, stuttering a little. "I don't mind if you talk to Dio about our relationship. We're getting married and I've resigned my job. So I-"
Hayam's index finger covered Vania's lips. For a moment, Vania's heart skipped a beat.
Their gazes collided. Vania could catch a flash of disappointment from Hayam's gaze.
"Vania, if in fact you are not ready for this marriage and still have feelings for Dio, I can give you time to think," said Hayam bitterly. "I don't like the way you asked me earlier."
Vania shook her head as fast as lightning. Her hands immediately moved to hug Hayam's neck and her legs tiptoed with her body moving against Hayam's body. Vania grabbed Hayam's lips. She could feel their bodies pressed together perfectly now.
