Hayam managed to get five freshwater fish. He helped Vania clean the fish scales. Meanwhile, Vania prepared a simple seasoning to coat the fish when it's grilled over the fire.
"It's like we're participating in a survival life show on television, right?" Vania laughed. She did not imagine that today she would enjoy the wild life with the simple method of living like a boy scout camping in the forest. Hayam also laughed because of Vania's words. "You said you wanted to stay in a tent yourself tonight," Hayam reminded Vania. "You said earlier that you wanted to stay here for a few days?"
Vania gave Hayam a big smile. She sat by Hayam's side and took out the fish that Hayam had cleaned to smear with the seasoning. "Because the place is beautiful here," said Vania. "Jogja is now crowded like Jakarta. The streets are always jammed and annoying. I always nag every time I leave and come home from work."
"But if I am elected as regent, you have to stay there for five years," said Hayam. "You know that I'm still in the process of running for regent."
"I know why. After all, no matter how congested Jogja is, I'll still be there. Maybe this is what is called a hate-love relationship, right?" Vania's small laugh slipped out. She gave the fish she had smeared with seasoning on Hayam.
"It could be. The proof is that many young people like to work and live in big cities. Even though they complain every day about heavy work and traffic jams, they still survive in big cities. They didn't make any real changes and just went with the flow," said Hayam. He started grilling the fish and sat back down beside Vania to enjoy his warm bitter coffee.
"Few young people have courage to go back to their hometown and work there. There are lot of things that scare them," said Vania. "I once conducted interviews with several young men while on a long holiday in the village. They say that in the village there is too much pressure about the question of when to get married and that you have to compete with the prestige of your surroundings."
"You think it's like that? Or is it really just an excuse?" Hayam smiled looking at Vania.
"Well, since I don't have a family, even living in a village, I really won't mind it. After all, the idea that in the village must follow the prestige of the environment is not true. They also compete with each other with prestige by buying an iPhone and getting into debt online while working in urban areas. What's the difference try?" said Vania.
"Actually, humans just need justification," said Hayam. "I was like that too. By having an affair with you, I think I will truly escape the misery and be superior to my ex-wife who has cheated on me behind my back. Turns out, everything felt fake when you left me."
Vania turned to Hayam. She rubbed Hayam's head which was slightly sweaty from the heat of the fire in front of them.
"I'm sorry about that, huh? I also can't completely depend on you or other old men just by selling my body," said Vania. She looked down sadly and still regretted his dark past. "I hope that my life can be much better than before."
Hayam smiled looking at Vania. "You have changed a lot, Vania. I never even thought that you would be this independent," said Hayam softly. "I will support you to become a better person. You just need to accompany me until death picks me up so that I won't be too lonely in my old age."
"Yes," replied Vania. She gave Hayam a warm hug.
For some reason, Vania's chest feels tight now. Her eyes began to heat up as if she wanted to spill all the tears she had been hiding.
However, she remembered that Hayam was too kind to witness her tears. the old man deserved to see her best smile. Because of that, Vania swallowed her saliva to relieve her chest that felt tight due to the burst of taste. She sighed and took a deep breath slowly. After she felt calmer, then she released her embrace from Hayam's body.
She smiled sweetly at the man. Hayam also smiled looking at Vania's beautiful face. His fingers gently caressed Vania's cheek lovingly.
"You have to clean up immediately. Your swimming suit is too thin and short," said Hayam.
"No one will see me except you," replied Vania.
"I'm afraid that you will catch a fever, Vania," said Hayam. "I am an old man. How could I be jealous just a matter of the clothes you wear."
"Is that true? I thought you would be jealous?" Vania teased. She looked at Hayam with a dubious look.
Hayam gently patted Vania's right thigh. Vania was surprised by that.
"Dear! It hurts to know!" Vania protested. She glared fiercely at Hayam.
Hayam's laughter sounded cheerful. The man did it again.
"I love you," said Hayam. "If you wear sexy clothes, I'm even more happy to see you."
Vania's cheeks turned red. She felt her body swell because of Hayam's whisper just now. "You are getting older and more perverted," Vania snorted.
Hayam's hand grabbed Vania's body from the side. He hugged her lover's body tightly and kissed her cheek hard.
"You are as beautiful as blooming roses, if I don't have a perverted mind, it's the same as wasting the beauty of your body," explained Hayam, giving an excuse.
"Man, you have many excuses, huh," laughed Vania.
They both exchanged laughter. Not long after, who knows who started first, they were already kissing passionately.
Their lips pressed together and sucked in deeply. Their tongues intertwined enjoying the wet warmth inside their fused mouths.
Vania felt her chest begin to constrict due to running out of oxygen. She let go of the hot kiss.
"I'm thirsty," said Vania.
Hayam's hand grabbed a water bottle and gave it to Vania. Vania immediately accepted and drank slowly the contents.
Hayam turned his gaze towards the grilled fish. He turned the body of the fish until it was evenly grilled and perfectly cooked.
Hayam took the plate and put the grilled fish on the plate. He took the meat and added the sauce on top.
"Eat, Honey," Hayam fed Vania attentively.
Vania opened her mouth wide and devoured Hayam's mouthful. She also took the fish meat and aimed it at Hayam's mouth.
When Hayam was about to devour it, Vania aimed the fish meat back into her mouth. Hayam chuckled and shook his head at Vania's behavior.
"You really like to tease me," said Hayam.
Vania's sweet laugh was heard.
"This is really serious," Vania grabbed the fish meat again and shoved it into Hayam's mouth. Hayam did not immediately open his mouth to devour the fish meat.
"If you tease me again, tonight I will make you moan until the morning," said Hayam with a big smile. "Seriously.
Come on let's eat. Ah," said Vania. Hayam opened his mouth to devour it.
Vania's hand pulled the meat back to her mouth again. "You really challenged me, huh," said Hayam with a smirk.
Even so, Vania did not feel afraid. Instead, she was actually looking forward to Hayam tonight.
